Tom Onslow-Cole flies to Portugal today for the final round of the Le Mans Cup along with RAM Racing, his team-mate Remon Vos (NL) and the #5 Mercedes AMG GT3, and hopes to end the season on a high.

The Milltek Sport-sponsored ace - who was last week invited by BMW Motorsport to drive its brand new 24 Hours of Le Mans-going M8 GTE - has never raced at the Portimao circuit but has tested the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and GTE, and the Bentley Continental GT3 there, so feels confident he knows the track well.

“It’s a fantastic circuit but it’s not an easy one to learn, so the main aim will be getting Remon [Vos] out there as much as possible ahead of qualifying,” commented the Rockstar Energy Drink Athlete. “Luckily, I know the track well and he learns quickly so I’ll be able to support him in getting up to speed.”

After two practice sessions on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, Vos will qualify the car ahead of Sunday morning’s race. With a mix of GT3s and LMP3s on the track, which includes some difficult corners, OC will warn his team-mate to be extra cautious.

“There are a few blind corners at Portimao so Remon will have to be careful as he approaches them,” added OC, who represents the motorsport-inspired watch brand Casio Edifice. “He’s a very quick and confident driver but I’m sure there will be some slightly unpredictable driving from the other competitors as they approach and navigate through these difficult sections.

“Remon has been a fantastic team-mate and I’ve really enjoyed our first season together. We’ve taken podiums together and I’d love nothing more than to end the year with him on a high,” concluded OC.

Qualifying takes place at 15.40 on Saturday with the race starting at 09.00 on Sunday and fans can watch on the Le Mans Cup website:
