International racing driver Tom Onslow-Cole will return to the Milltek Sport VW Cup this weekend (1 August) as he guest drives the Milltek Sport VW Scirocco at Brands Hatch and he’s looking to repeat the victory of his last outing in the championship.

In his last VW Cup event, back in 2011, OC was impressed by the standard of driving in the seven-round series that now follows the British GT Championship calendar. This weekend, the 2.0-litre Scirocco will once again be run by KPM Racing, and OC is looking forward to seeing if his recent experience in the Milltek Sport VW Golf will give him an extra edge.

“Last time out in the Milltek Sport VW Cup I was seriously impressed,” OC commented. “Naturally, I went there wanting to win but I certainly had to fight for it. I’ve looked at the entry list and there are a lot of the same names still racing, so I expect the competition to be even tougher this time out. Still, I’ve spent a lot more time in the VW Golf in the past 12 months so hopefully I can still bring it!”

In 2014, OC contested four rounds of the 24H Series, a long-distance endurance championship based in Europe and Dubai, with Milltek Sport and KPM Racing. Together, they took a podium at each race and won the 24 Hours of Dubai and 12 Hours of Hungary.

KPM Racing runs GT and touring cars in national and international events. It kick-started 2015 with podium in Dubai 24 Hours with the Strata21 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 and is currently having success with its pair of VW Cup entires.

“Milltek Sport and KPM Racing always provide me with a car that is quick, reliable and well set-up so I’m hoping this will allow me to hit the ground running,” OC continued. “I’m really looking forward to getting back into a sprint race after a year of endurance racing - I just need to remember not to pit for driver change!”

OC has just returned from the 24 Hours of Spa where he finished fifth in the PRO-AM class and tenth overall with Leonard Motorsport AMR in the Vantage GT3. After his Brands Hatch VW Cup exploits, he will head to Barcelona 24 Hours with RAM Racing and the Mercedes SLS GT3, where they aim to continue their championship-leading campaign.

The Brands Hatch GP round of the Milltek Sport VW Cup takes place on 1/2 August. Tickets, for the British GT Championship weekend are available at
