After a busy May Day weekend, putting the new Milltek Sport Ford Focus RS through its paces, OC had a quick turnaround to shakedown the RAM Racing AMG GT3 ahead of the third race of the season and says that he is looking forward to getting the Series back underway.
“We shook-down the Mercedes AMG GT3 today and it feels brand new,” he commented. “Yes, we have had some issues with the car this season but you have to put them behind you. As a driver, that’s not something you can control, you just have to turn up with a positive attitude, optimise the car you have and focus on delivering the best possible result.”
Last season, OC and the RAM Racing team finished in second place at Zandvoort 12 Hours in the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, the third podium of the year for the championship-winning team.
This weekend, OC will once again be joined by long-standing team-mate Paul White (GB) as well as new-for-2016 co-driver Stuart Hall (GB).
“I know we have the best team in the paddock and a very strong driver line-up,” he continued. “To add to that, Zandvoort is one of the great tracks on the calendar – it’s a satisfying lap to drive. There is also a beach party halfway through the race, which is never a bad thing!”
Zandvoort 12 Hours starts at 1600hrs on Friday 6 May and runs for three hours. The race resumes at 0920hrs on Saturday 7 May for the remaining nine hours to be completed. Fans can watch the race live at www.24hseries.com.
After the race at Zandvoort, OC will return to the UK to contest his home round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone in the Team Parker Racing Bentley Continental GT3 on 14/15 May.
